What we create…

… carries a piece of our soul.

Rope Spinning

It all started when my friend Action_Bastard began his legendary business Bastard Ropes. A charismatic and warm fellow with a passion for quality rope. We worked out many details around rope making and processing. Myself, being an engineering student at the time, gave many hours to testing his wacky creations and ways to improve his own processes. Much of my rope spinning knowledge came from his experience and tinkering.

In 2016 I started a career in wire & cable manufacturing as a process/product engineer. Quite literally making rope for a living on a global scale. Where I further developed my knowledge and understanding of rope as a material. Countless nights testing various materials, rope constructions, and developing valuable insights into rope. Yielding a unique & intimate knowledge of how rope is made, how it’s creation affects handling, and it’s capabilities.

Since 2018 we’ve been spinning rope for local communities and for my own supply. Carrying hemp, bamboo silk hybrid, nylon, and coconut for all who are curious.

Carpentry

Beginning on a small farm in far away Germany. I spent a few months as an apprentice during my childhood learning the basics from a grumpy old farmer. In college I built up my experience further between my engineering studies and weekend contracting jobs working on homes. I’ve always loved working with my hands and specifically with hardwood itself like maple, purpleheart, or oak.

Since 2016 I’ve tinkered with paddle, knife, furniture, and various other item designs and construction. Priding myself in the durability, strength, and quality of my builds. I have a special affinity towards building suspension rigs and wax play daggers.

Vast majority of my builds are maple or oak creations with a durable but stylish multi-layer oil based polyurethane finish to protect against liquids and scratching.
